| PLEASE READ THIS BEVOR YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE DRAWING! I just wanted to say that this is not just another one of my drawings. This one is something special! You can see my great grandmother in this. And i think her face and everything you can see in this portrait is reflecting a whole lifetime! So i just wanted to tell you something about her bevor you can bother this drawing of her. My great grandmother, Auguste, was born in Semptember . . . Year 1914. When she married, she married not only her husband but a family-run hotel. After world war 2 her husband didn't came back to her and their three little children. Probable he died not long before the war endet. As far as known he drunk on a ship that time. So my great grandmother had to bring up their children alone while leading a hotel on her own! Secound setback after the death of her husband was that her little sun also drunk in the little stream next to our hotel. And it happend just as usual. A little boy about 1 or 2 years roam around to find anything to play with or something while his mother and everyone else of the family was busy with the guests of the hotel and other things. So there wasn't any help for him in the end when they found him. There are many other storys like this in her life and it's not really an extraordinary life. Many fates from that time sounds like that. But in September she will be 95 and she is still brightening the cultery as you can see on the drawing. And she is still asking for work when me or any other one out of my family is next to her. Every single day she is still coming with my grandmother (her daughter) along the street from their house to our hotel for working. To press the sheets or what else. To bark the potatoes or any other vegetable. And i just love the look in her face, in her eyes. This mischievous touch, as if she would know anything. It's just like you look in this face and you can see just this whole lifetime in it! I'm just so faszinated in this picture of her. It shows exactly the way she is today . . . I just love her so much! Always, when i'm coming to her to hug her or give her a kiss on her cheek, she tells me what a good child i would be and how good this feels to her and how kind i would be to her. She's just such a lovely person! And this drawing is a tribute to her. To her whole life and what enormous respect i have for her! I can just raise my hat to her. |
